McDonald's graphic designer uses sunlight to advertise breakfast menu

A Chicago branch of McDonald's has designed a billboard which uses a sun-dial effect to 'point' at different breakfast options at each hour of the morning, cleverly suggesting a next choice for potential customers.

The shadow rolls across six different menu items between 6 -11 am before culminating in the McDonald's famous "M" at midday.

The design is creative yet pragmatic; advertising specific products without spending big on digital effects and using one of humanity's oldest tools - sunlight.
